There are a lot of treatment options to correct teeth that are crowded or crooked, including retainers, aligners, and braces (invisible, metal, ceramic, or micro braces). Correcting a bad bite and improperly aligned teeth (malocclusion) is important not only for aesthetic reasons but also for proper oral health and function.

Your age, jaw, and the size of your teeth all contribute to your smile. Bite problems usually become obvious between ages 6 and 12, and orthodontic treatments often start at ages 8 and 14. But this doesn’t mean that adults aren’t good candidates for braces. Healthy teeth can be adjusted at any age. In fact, many orthodontic cases can be corrected as easily for adults as for children.
At Unique Dental Clinic, we offer the following orthodontic solutions for children, teens, and adults.

Types of braces
  • Metal Braces - Metal braces are the most traditional type of braces, consisting of stainless steel brackets and wires, with colored bands that apply pressure to the teeth. The latest metal braces use soft and pliable heat-activated archwires, an innovative technology developed by NASA. These archwire braces react to the body heat, gently straightening the teeth with reduced discomfort.
  • Ceramic/Clear Braces - Clear braces are very popular among adults and appearance-conscious teens, as they are almost invisible on the teeth. They are made of ceramic material that matches the color of the teeth, with tooth-colored wires and clear elastic bands.
  • Lingual Braces - Lingual braces are specialized metal braces that are placed on the inside of your teeth, making them invisible from the outside. Lingual braces aren’t for everyone, especially if you have small or crowded teeth. They are mostly used by popular personalities for whom appearance is paramount, such as actors, models, presenters, and other public figures.
ALIGNERS-
Invisalign® - Invisalign® is a patented system of braces that uses a series of clear plastic aligners that progressively move your teeth to the desired position. Each set of aligners is molded to fit your teeth correctly and is worn for about two weeks. After a fortnight, these are replaced by tighter sets at regular intervals, during the course of the treatment. You are required to visit a certified orthodontist to check if you are a suitable candidate for the Invisalign® treatment.
